Using an array of sensors the Smart Citizen Kit monitors a whole raft of data about your environment, from noise to air pollution. This is then shared with the whole world.
But why would you want to do such a thing?
Access to this sort of data has conventionally been restricted to government bodies or corporations.
By giving this ability back to individuals we can take charge on issues such as pollution, by using the data as evidence and by having direct comparisons with everyone else in the world.
We talked with Smart Citizen Kit founder Tomas Diez when he visited London as he hooked up a new kit in our area.
